Printers
| A peripheral capable of producing a hard copy of documents stored in electronic form is the printer. Printers virtually do not require setup time to achieve a hard copy of a given document. |
Many printers are usually attached to a computer that serves as a document source, attached by a printer cable or, in most innovative printers, a USB cable. The network printers have built-in network interfaces, and they can typically serve as a hardcopy tool for any user on the network.
Local and network connected users at the same time can be supported by individual printers. Additionally, electronic media such as memory sticks or memory cards can directly be interfaced by a few newer printers.
Some modern printers are also combined with a scanner and/or fax device in a single unit, this is an advantage that allows the user to employ them as a photocopier.
