Modern Print Technology
| The printing technologies that are routinely found in modern printers are toner-based printers, liquid inkjet printers, solid ink printers, dye-sublimation printers and Inkless printers. |
Toner-based printers work employing the Xerographic principle that is employed in most photocopier devices: by sticking to a light-sensitive print drum the toner, then by means of static electricity to transfer the toner to the printing medium to which it is fused with heat and pressure.
The laser printer is the most common type of toner-based printers, it employs precision lasers to cause toner adherence. High quality prints, good print speed, and a low cost-per-copy are some of characteristics of laser printers.
